Become a Student Rep at One
You have the opportunity to become a Student Rep during your studies at One and in doing so you will help to form the Student Voice programme. Becoming a Student Rep is a great enrichment opportunity and will allow you to enhance your CV or University Application, whilst also being an advocate for your peers. Why Become a Student Rep?
Students have contributed to college groups and decision-making processes from the beginning, and One is committed to listening to the student voice at every level. If you choose to become a Student Rep, you will be involved in the development of the College and provide an essential link between the students and the College. Your knowledge of what it is really like to study at One is invaluable.
The opportunity to work with fellow Reps and other students can be incredibly rewarding. This scheme provides an exciting network, and we hope that by joining the Student voice you will meet some new people and enjoy all aspects of this experience!

• To be treated with respect, courtesy and fairness.

The Student Forum is a formal way for our students to have a say on almost everything that happens at college. It's a representative structure to make sure that students are heard and listened to. The forum works in partnership with college leadership, teachers and staff for the benefits of the college and its students.
At Student Forum meetings, you'll get to discuss all the current goings-on at the college, explain how they might impact students, and put forward your own ideas and suggestions. You'll play a part in developing new initiatives, recommending changes and identifying things that could be improved. Ultimately, you'll be making student life better for everyone!
The structure of the Student Forum:
The Chairperson – It is the responsibility of the Chairperson to help coordinate, manage and motivate the Student Forum members. The Chairperson conducts the Student Forum meetings, making sure everyone has an equal opportunity to have their voice heard. After every meeting the Chairperson will analyse what has been discussed and immediately contact the most appropriate members of staff.
Vice Chairperson – The Vice Chairperson governs the discussion of student/college matters during Student Forum meetings and also works very closely the Chairperson to ensure that meetings are being arranged and run effectively and efficiently.
Secretary - The role of Secretary is to write the minutes and agenda in preparation for Student Forum meetings alongside the Chairperson/Vice Chairperson.
The Student Forum is an element of the 'Student Voice' at One. Other aspects include:
Student Surveys: Each year, we ask every student to complete surveys at key points in the year. They don't take much time to fill in but they're a really valuable way for us to find out about your opinions and suggestions. We use the results when we're reviewing processes and other aspects of life at One.
Focus Groups: Students are asked to attend a small focus group, here we get together and have a discussion about specific issues that may need further feedback from students.
At the beginning of each academic year students are invited to express their interest in joining the One College Student Forum, it is open to all student across the centre.
Any student interested in joining the Student Forum please email firstname.lastname@example.org
