For Children in Care and Care Leavers we offer a support package to keep you on track.
How we can support you
As a Child in Care or Care Leaver you will be allocated to a Safeguarding Practitioner who can offer you support during your time at One. Your allocated Safeguarding Practitioner will attend meetings on behalf of the college and can support with the following:
- Check how you are settling into college life
- Discuss available support from Student Welfare
- Offer continued support
- Discuss Future options/independent guidance advice
- To complete your Personal Education Plan (PEP) if they apply
Please come to Student Welfare (TC P 001) to speak to the duty officer for support with:
- Personal Issues
- Health Issues
- Sexual Health Issues
- Drugs and Alcohol support
- Advocacy
- Counselling
- Bursary advice
- Any safeguarding issues
- Personal progress tutor
Personal Progress Tutor
All students have a Personal Progress Tutor that will support you through your academic course. They will also be the first point of call for any of your needs on the course. If you would like to speak with your Personal Progress Tutor, you can find them located in Student Services.
