One students have been working with Movac Group to design and create wooden outfits to showcase at the W14 exhibition.
Harry Lymer, One student said “This is a great opportunity working with a local company. It has enabled me to develop my design skills and understand the process of a real life brief and working with a client. I have enjoyed the process of being able to visit one of the Movac workshops and seeing my creations evolve. I am impressed with the quality of the paint finishes which really showcased my pop art design. I have been able to include this project in my professional coursework portfolio”.
Mark Smith, Managing Director of Movac Group Ltd said “involving the work of students at this level is hugely important, as we are bringing the next generation of designers and technicians into the actual manufacturing process. We want to make a difference – not only to our customers with our innovative products and services – but to the industry as a whole and our communities.”
The final designs will be modelled at W14 - the Joinery and Furniture Manufacturing Show from Sunday 5th to Wednesday 8th October.
