Changes to Course Offerings: Withdrawals and New Options
Due to government-mandated changes, the following Level 3 Extended Diplomas will be withdrawn from One SFC’s curriculum from September 2026. No new students will be enrolled on these courses, including those who have already applied or were planning to apply:
- Biomedical Sciences
- Health & Social Care
- Information Technology
To ensure suitable alternatives are available, the college has introduced a range of new courses. Each AAQ course is equivalent to one A level and can be combined with other subjects to create a full-time study programme.
New/ alternative courses for September 2026:
AAQs (all equivalent to 1 A level)
- Applied Science
- Computing- Application Development
- Cyber Security and Networks
- Early Childhood Development
- Health & Social Care
- Human Biology
- IT Data Analytics
- Mental Health
Other new courses for September 2026:
- Plumbing (full time course)
- Electrical Installation (full time course)
All new courses can be found of the course search page of the website.
Any students that had already applied for any of the withdrawn courses will be contacted and a new, suitable programme of study will be discussed.
