What does the course involve?
This Level 3 qualification builds on students’ knowledge, understanding, and skills in applied science, with a strong emphasis on practical techniques. It is designed for learners interested in careers that require a solid foundation in scientific principles and hands-on laboratory experience.
In the first year, the programme focuses on:
· Researching the fundamentals of science
· Planning and performing laboratory investigations
In the second year, you will explore the wider context of science in society and study specialist units such as forensic biology and medical physics.

This course is ideal if you want to strengthen your understanding of core sciences and prepare for future study or careers in fields such as paramedic science, nursing, laboratory science, environmental studies, or ecological engineering.
