Pupils from three Ipswich primary schools were treated to an exclusive first look at the One Sixth Form College production of The King And I,  performed by a host of talented sixth formers.

Students from Capel St Mary, The Oaks and Sprites primary schools visited One sixth form for the dress rehearsal of the show, as part of the Raising the Bar scheme. It aims to inspire pupils to have positive aspirations.

One sports teacher and Raising the Bar co-ordinator Paul Rea said: “As part of the Raising the Bar initiative, former One students will be going back into the Ipswich primary schools that they used to attend to talk to students about their life experiences so far."

“The STEM department at One will be working with youngsters on an engineering project called ‘think it, build it, destroy it’ – with the aim of encouraging more people to consider careers in this industry (engineering) in later life. These events follow on from The King And I visit that was well received.”
