Online Safety

Technology is an integral part of the lives of young people in today's society.  The internet and other digital and information technologies are powerful tools, which open up new opportunities for everyone both socially and educationally. In College we recognise this and encourage our students to use digital resources both in College and at home responsibly.

As part of our on-going commitment to the safeguarding and protection of our students, the College has a robust online safety policy, actively monitors the use of internet activity on our College network, supports the yearly Safer Internet Day and throughout our tutorial and curriculum programmes students cover different aspects of staying safe online and using technologies responsibly. Topics covered include protecting your online identity, the law relating to the sending and receiving of inappropriate images and the dangers of internet grooming.

If you as a parent/guardian have any concerns about your son or daughter and online safety in College, please contact their PPT in the first instance. There is also an opportunity during parent's evenings to talk over any concerns you may have with staff from our Learning Resources team at the Online Safety Stand situated in the atrium.
