What does the course involve?
You will study content from carefully selected sectors that offer clear pathways into our level 2 and level 3 courses:
- Creative Industries
- Digital and IT Skills
- Health, Social Care and Childcare
- Sport and Active Leisure
These areas have been chosen to give you both variety and direction - helping you progress smoothly into more specialised study that supports your long term ambition.
To help you reach your full potential, you will continue to develop your core skills through either GCSE Maths and English or Functional Skills, depending on your previous achievements and individual needs. Alongside your main qualification, you will complete the Gateway Level 2 Award in Progression, which is designed to strengthen your study habits, boost your confidence, and develop the personal qualities that colleges and employers value most.

The Level 2 Foundation Programme is designed to help you discover your strengths, explore new opportunities, and build the skills you need for your next steps in education or employment.
The programme consists of Gateway Level 2 Diploma in Vocational Studies - a flexible, engaging qualification that lets you sample a variety of vocational areas before choosing a specialist route that suits your interests and career goals. Alongside sector specific learning, you'll also develop key employability skills that are valuable across many industries.
Successful completion will allow students to progress on to a selection of Level 3 Vocational courses.

How will I be assessed?
Students will be assessed through course work for the main qualification and exams for maths and English; either GCSE resits or functional skills.
