We are looking for a College Counsellor, to support student success and retention by delivering high quality mental health and counselling services, including short term supportive interventions, for students experiencing a range of psychological and emotional difficulties. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in an education setting and have a thorough understanding and resolution tactics of students in Post 16 Education.

We are seeking to appoint an HR & Recruitment Administrator who is able to provide proactive, customer-focused support to all colleagues within the Eastern Colleges Group (West Suffolk College, One Sixth Form College and Abbeygate Sixth Form College).  

This is an exciting opportunity to develop, or build upon, your career in HR within a hugely supportive team.

You will provide administrative support for our recruitment process, including supporting our Recruitment Lead and Recruitment Officer with arranging interviews and liaising with candidates. You will also play a key role in conducting all the necessary pre-employment checks for our new starters and provide transactional HR support for current employees.

The successful candidate will have experience of either HR or administration, possess excellent customer service skills and have the ability to work towards tight time scales with good attention to detail. Experience of using the iTrent HR and Payroll Platform would be advantageous.

This role will predominantly be home-based, with the need to travel to our colleges in Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich as required.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and will have demonstrable experience of managing communications, including writing, researching, and relationship building. We are seeking an excellent communicator with effective interpersonal skills, who is highly organised, and has the ability to perform and prioritise multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail. Demonstrable experience in Public Relations or Communications would be an advantage.

HR Lead – Wellbeing and Talent Architecture

We are seeking an HR Lead to join our Wellbeing & Talent Architecture Team. This is an exciting time to join us, as we have expanded our HR Service over the last 18 months and have made great strides with providing a comprehensive, forward thinking, HR function to the Eastern Colleges Group.

The successful candidate will support the HR Manager – Wellbeing & Talent Architecture to deliver the Employee Wellbeing Plan, manage absence casework, and help deliver Group Continuous Professional Development. The HR Lead will play a key role in projects that make each of the Group Colleges a great place to work. 

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Contribute to and support in the delivery of the Employee Wellbeing Plan, including a timetable of wellbeing activities for staff. 
  • Manage absence case work, assisting line managers and employees in a supportive manner, utilising support from outside providers where appropriate.
  • Supporting on the implementation of a new appraisal and performance management system.
  • Support on information gathering from appraisals to feed into group wide training and development plans.
  • Collate information and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the HR Team on behalf of other areas.
  • Work with the Chief People Officer and HR Manager to develop and foster a shared service approach for HR services, across the Eastern Colleges Group.
  • Take part in or lead on projects on behalf of HR, as delegated by the Chief People Officer or HR Manager.

This role will predominantly be home-based, with the need to travel to our colleges in Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich as required.
