• Head of Curriculum (English & Performing Arts)
MPR/UPR + TLR 2 (£6,450 gross pa), Full Time, Permanent
We are looking for a Head of Curriculum to lead our English and Performing Arts teams. This is an exciting opportunity to work as a leader of highly effective and experienced teaching staff in an outstanding, inclusive college. Outcomes for students are excellent, facilities are stunning and our reputation for quality is second to none.
The post holder will make a major contribution to our college’s operational activity and will have the opportunity to influence the strategic decision making of the college.
A key part of the role is to lead and inspire colleagues, through personal example, provision of CPD, appraisal and day-to-day support; in turn maintaining and developing a cohesive teaching team with high aspirations. The postholder will ensure their curriculum area meets the targets for performance, promotes relevant courses and the college as a whole to prospective students, while ensuring that courses are viable and sustainable through the prudent and effective management of resources. The post also comes with a teaching responsibility.
• Teacher of Economics & Business (3 Posts)
Post 1 - MPR/UPR, Full Time, Permanent
Post 2 - MPR/UPR, Full Time, Maternity Cover
Post 3 - MPR/UPR, Part time (0.4 FTE), Permanent
The successful candidates will be involved in the continual development and improvement of schemes of work and resources, and will be focussed on the learning, achievement, progression and well-being of our students. Experience in delivering KS5 Business and related courses (A-level, BTEC Level 2 and Level 3) is preferred.
• Teacher of Media
MPR/UPR, Part Time (0.4 FTE), Permanent
This is an excellent opportunity to join the Arts and Media Curriculum Area. The person appointed must have a lively and stimulating approach to teaching and learning, the ability to teach to a high level of academic, creative and technical standards at level 3 (A level and BTEC).
The successful candidate should have the ability to teach on two or more of the following courses:
• A Level Media Studies
• A Level Film Studies
• BTEC L3 Creative Media Production
Ideal candidates will possess current knowledge of Film and/or Media theory combined with competency in Print and/or Moving Image Production techniques.
• Teacher of IT and Computer Science
MPR/UPR, Part Time (0.4 FTE), Permanent
We are looking for a well-qualified and inspirational teacher. The successful candidate will become an integral member of our energetic and supportive team. They will be involved in the continual development and improvement of schemes of work and resources, and will be focussed on the learning, achievement, progression and well-being of our students. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work with young people who enjoy learning and want to work hard to succeed.
• Teacher of English
MPR/UPR, Full Time, Maternity Cover
We are looking for a well-qualified and inspirational English teacher. The person we appoint must have a lively and stimulating approach to teaching and learning, the ability to teach to a high academic standard at GCSE and AS/ A Level, and a commitment to the learning and well-being of all young people.
• Teacher of Engineering and/or Motor Vehicle
MPR/UPR, Part Time (0.44 FTE), 12 month Fixed Term Contract
The desirable key subject areas within the Engineering teaching delivery include Mechanical and/or Electrical Principles and Applications, Microcontroller systems and Electronics, Basic Programming, CAD and Design. Experience of teaching Engineering Level 3 to 16-19 year olds is preferred but not essential, while engineering industrial experience is seen as an asset. For Motor Vehicle teaching, it would be advantageous for candidates to have experience of working in a motor repair environment, as well as possessing up-to-date knowledge.
