One College Supports Internet Safety DayBack
One Sixth Form College backed the National Internet Safety Day on 6th February 2018 by hosting a series of interactive sessions designed to raise awareness.
Alison Baker, Manager of Learning Resources, said: "We don't want to scare people, we want to inform them. We do this every year as it's important that our students are aware of the dangers that the internet can pose.
"We try and get across the point that you need to be kind to others and that the internet is generally a force for good. It should be a positive environment but like with everything, there are down sides. Therefore, each class had a presentation and staff created discussion sessions on this subject. We also had a stand in our atrium where students were on hand to give 'peer to peer' advice for anyone who wanted to talk to them about any internet issues that they had."
