First Languages Live competition to be hosted at One Sixth Form College

One Sixth Form College is delighted to be hosting the inaugural Languages Live competition, presented by the Association for Language Learning Essex and East Anglian Branch.
The event will take place at 5pm on Tuesday, 17th June and will involve Year 12 students from Suffolk and North Essex schools performing in French, Spanish and German, which they are studying for A Level.
Entries ranging from Mamma Mia sung in French to a scene from Almodóvar’s famous Spanish film, Volver, requiring the competition audience to also take part! A number of entrants have also written their own songs, poems and scripts.
Prizes include £100 worth of book tokens awarded to the Winner by the Ipswich Institute, as well as online language courses and additional awards generously offered by The Ipswich Arras Association and leading international language bodies, including the Alliance Francaise East Anglia, the Goethe-Institut and the Instituto Cervantes.
One Sixth Form College Year 12 Graphic Design student, Emma Peck, has already been a winner, having designed the competition logo.
Languages at ONE continue to go from strength to strength with record numbers studying French and Spanish A Level and the launch of German A Level in September 2025.
Eastern Education Group has already hosted the Eastern Region MFL Debating Competition this year as a joint collaboration between ONE and Abbeygate Sixth Form College.
