What does the course involve?
The Level 3 Beauty Therapy course deepens your knowledge of Beauty Therapy techniques and services, and will allow you to progress into a working role as a practicing Beauty Therapist.
In a similar way to the Level 2 course, the Level 3 City and Guilds Diploma continues to develop industry-standard practical skills and experience, supported by up-to-date theoretical knowledge of issues in beauty related industries.
A particularly exciting aspect of the Level 3 course is that you will develop more advanced salon techniques, such as a range of massage skills, with the use of facial and body therapy machines. You will also develop knowledge of the skills relating to important areas of study in Beauty Therapy, including health and safety and working with colleagues in the beauty industry. Anatomy and Physiology (Biology) is an integral part of the course of which you will need to learn, study and revise. This will support the practical units.
There are 9 units in the Level 3 Beauty Therapy course:
- Unit 301: Working with colleagues within the beauty-related industries
- Unit 302: Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon
- Unit 303: Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
- Unit 304: Promote and sell products and services to clients
- Unit 305: Provide body massage
- Unit 306: Provide facial electrotherapy treatments
- Unit 307: Provide body electrotherapy treatments
- Unit 309: Provide massage using pre-blended aromatherapy oils
- Unit 322: Apply stone therapy massage
Entry Requirements
Standard entry requirements, plus:
- GCSE Mathematics at Grade 3
- GCSE English at grade 3
- Successful completion of the Beauty Therapy course at Level 2.
Can I take additional qualifications?
This is a full year course and cannot be supplemented with other courses.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed on your practical skills at regular opportunities throughout the course, in which you will be given a grade dependent on your level of achievement. You will also be assessed on your theoretical knowledge with a written exam.
