2017 Student Success

Principal, Alan Whittaker, said, "We are delighted yet again with the excellent results which are a testament to the hard work and commitment from all our students and staff."

The results are as follows:

A Level

In terms of A2 performance 383 students sat exams.

The overall results were as follows:

A* - C 75pc

A* - E 98pc

Vocational courses at Level 3

In terms of vocational courses, a total of 390 students undertook these courses.

The overall results were as follows:

D*D*D* - PPP 100%

Rosie Bound is 18 from Ipswich. She studied Biology, Ancient History and French. She said, "I got A*s in all of my subjects. I feel relieved and shocked but I worked hard so I'm pleased that it came off. I'm off to Hertford College in Oxford to study Anthropology and Archaeology. I've really enjoyed One – it's been an amazing place to learn."

18 year old Joe Harris is from Stowmarket. He studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics and AS Computer Science. He received three A*s and an A for computer science.  He said, "I'm happy. One was good – a really nice place. It has a balance between being independent but you are still able to get help when you need it."  Joe's next move will be to study Maths at either Cambridge University or University College London.

Alfie Vaughan from Holbrook near Ipswich studied Games Design and Creative Media Production. He said, "I found the whole two years lovely. I achieved a D* in games design and D* D* D* in Media Production. I feel elated. Next up, I have a contact with Weta Digital in New Zealand and they are going to put me in touch with them (Weta) in a couple of months.

"At the moment I'm self- employed. I've been working with a live digital company going around the country. I've been to Edinburgh, Reading, York, Norwich and Kent and I've also be doing some work for a football company."

18 year old Max Betts Davies from Stowmarket studied Economics, History and Drama. He said, "I did well and I've got into Liverpool University with an A, B and a C - so happy days. I'm going to study philosophy. One was amazing, I loved every minute of it – I'm a bit gutted to leave. But Liverpool is a cracking city and it will open up opportunities."
