Staff and students at One sixth form college in Ipswich paid special tribute at their staff awards to a former Photography tutor who died last year.

The annual iAwards recognise and celebrate the achievements of star performers at the sixth form.

The awards, held in December 2017, paid an emotional tribute to Gordon Haws, a former photography tutor who was awarded the 'Lifetime Contribution to Education' award.

Paying tribute, principal Alan Whittaker said: "It was an honour and a privilege to present this award."

"Gordon spent over 40 years educating people across the world."

"He was an amazing man who gave his whole life to teaching. He was a true inspiration to students, his colleagues and his family."

"He truly was a wonderful person to work with and a trusted friend to all."

Colleague Joe Taylor (pictured above with One Sixth Form College Principal, Alan Whittaker) collected the award on Mr Haws' behalf.
