Books and quotes take centre stage during global reading campaign

One is backing a campaign aimed at encouraging more people to read.

World Book Day takes place on Thursday 7 March 2019 and One ) is supporting the idea.

Staff from the English department have created T-shirts that are adorned with their favourite literary quotes.

And the learning resource department are hosting quiz and storytelling sessions throughout the day.

Head of Curriculum Jen Pierce, said, "It's important we celebrate reading and books in general.

"Personally I don't think people are reading less but the way we are reading is changing. Our students tend to be using different technologies to consume information. However, in my opinion, the amount people read hasn't changed much over the years.

"All in all, we are very proud to be part of World Book Day 2019 – books teach you to be human and we don't want to ever lose that."
