The King and I

Around 1000 people saw our production of 'The King And I' which was performed from 30th January to 2nd February 2018. The cast was made up of around 30 students who study Music and Performing Arts as well as students from across the college.

All students can audition each September to become involved in our annual production. The cast and musicians are supported by a staff and student technical crew which gives our Music Technology and Creative Media students the opportunity to gain experience of sound, lighting and stage management. Twelve students from Cliff Lane Primary School were also involved in the show this year and the cast were backed by a 17-piece orchestra housed at the back of the stage.

Head of Curriculum for Media and Performing Arts at ONE, Lois Hinsley, said, "I'd say that this was our most ambitious production to date – but it will go down in history as one of our best.

"The audience reaction was tremendous and I felt incredibly proud of everyone. They all came together to make this a roaring success."

ONE productions from previous years have included Rent, Guys and Dolls, Hairspray, Little Shop of Horrors and We Will Rock You.

The next productions at ONE will be the Dance Evening on Wednesday 21st March at 7pm and the Spring Concert that is taking place on the evening of Thursday 26 April 2018. Tickets are available from http://ticketsource.co.uk/suffolkone nearer to the events.
