Post-16 travel policy statement 2018/19

Please find below a Post-16 travel policy statement 2018/19 from Suffolk County Council. Please send any queries to: 16Travel@suffolk.gov.uk

Dear Colleagues,

The post-16 travel policy statement 2018/19 will be considered when Suffolk County Council's Cabinet meets on Tuesday 15 May.

Every year, by law we are required to consult on the post-16 travel policy for young people. The policy statement is the result of the statutory consultation that we are required to run every year and should not be confused with the results of the school and post-16 travel consultation for September 2019 policies.

The final policy must be published by 31 May, ready for the start of the new academic year in September.

As part of this consultation no changes are being proposed to the service that young people will receive in the academic year 2018/19. However, following feedback, the policy has been reworded toprovide greater clarity in some areas.

The Cabinet paper and further information is now available on Suffolk County Council's website under the item 15-05-2018, The Cabinet.

Please do cascade this message to your colleagues, parents and carers and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to email: Post-16Travel@suffolk.gov.uk

Cllr Gordon Jones

Cabinet Member for Children's Services, Education and Skills, Suffolk County Council
