The A2 Geographers had the fantastic opportunity of a Sizewell Power Station tour owned by Edf last week. Students were able to touch the casing of the turbine creating half of the power for the counties of Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk.
Students were able to discuss future plans for uranium waste and current decommissioning of Sizewell A. The centre offered interesting facts about the new proposal for Sizewell C and also different background radiation level. Watch out if you like Brazil nuts!
One of our students has applied for an apprenticeship and he found out that he had passed the first round of applications. He has been invited to take part in the first round of interviews in the coming month, a grand achievement with applications being high. This year there are just 15 apprenticeship spaces available.
