This year once again students and staff took part in the College’s Six Book Challenge supported by the National Reading Agency. The challenge invites participants to pick six reads and record their reading in a diary in order to get a certificate. It builds reading confidence and motivates our learners who enjoyed participating.
Along the way students collected other small prizes including pens and rulers to encourage them to complete the challenge. The college had 70 individuals who completed the challenge and as a result will be awarded a Bronze certificate by the National Reading Agency.
In addition to the small prizes each individual who completed the challenge was entered into a draw to win either a Nook eReader/tablet or £30 worth of Amazon Vouchers. Roberta a year 12 student and winner of the Nook said “I am overwhelmed and in shock to have had my name picked. I loved reading all the books and can’t wait to do the challenge again next year”.
