Engineering BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma students volunteered to attend the STEM Fair at Stour Valley Community School on the 25th February to help raise the profile of Engineering.
Zeinab Faris, Ashton Meadows, Olivia Halsey and Jordan Ann were keen to get involved with the project as they understand the importance of sharing their knowledge and doing something positive for the sector. It gave them a fantastic opportunity to promote engineering in general and to explain the different pathways that can be taken after studying engineering at One. Furthermore the day highlighted the current national need to address the gender imbalance within engineering.
The day was a great success and a valuable experience for all involved. All the students took along examples of their project work and encouraged Stour Valley Community School students to operate the various mechanisms. There was a high level of interest which was fantastic.
