We have been recognised as being one of the most inspirational libraries in the world, Alison Baker our Learning Resource Centre Manager was approached by the Guardian Newspaper to be considered.
Other libraries included Rosendale primary school in south London that converted a London bus into a learning space and another notable entry was an enchanted forest themed space in Surrey. Also included in the online article were other learning resources in places such as Los Angles, New York and Melbourne.
Alison said “It’s great to get positive recognition of any kind. One of our greatest assets is our fantastic facilities and the library is a part of this.”
“Not only is it an inspirational place of study, we have a variety of different sections and work closely with students to encourage them to read as much as possible.”
“Most recently our learners set up a blind date with a book challenge where you had to choose a book from under the Christmas tree that had been wrapped and read the contents and write a review at the end.”
“Blind date books ranged from Harry Potter to Divergent and Twilight to a Tale of Two Cities.”
Vice Principal, Jenny Milsom, added, “We are delighted to have been included in this list. It’s great acclaim for a fantastic resource.”
