Local organisations working within the Health and Social Care industry came to exhibit at One last week. The event, held over lunchtime, showed students how they can get involved in the Health and Social Care sector through employment or voluntary work and put into practice the skills they are learning on their course. This was a great opportunity to see the wide range of professions within the industry as well as speak to current health care professionals on their roles and responsibilities.
All of the organisers said it was great to come along and that they had a steady flow of students speak to them. Lots of students signed up to help volunteer and register their interest with charities, which will go towards their work experience and general field knowledge. Health and Social Care teacher Mark Osborne spoke with some of the organisations in regards to setting up lunchtime drop in sessions and stands for the students as we endeavour to continue networking with local organisations in the Care industry.
