WOW what a fabulous fieldtrip. Germany was as delightful as ever, this year we were met with a carpet of snow. The snow was a bright reminder of just how high up our mountainous location was. The drifts were high and the sledging was superb fun. Much fun and speed was had by all.
The visit to the Old Iron Curtain was sobering, hard to imagine that people had been split from family and friends in this way. Hard to take in the great distance between the East and West borders. All students appreciated the bravery people showed in trying to escape.
Fieldwork was achieved over the course of the week to a very high level. Students gained results from many fieldwork techniques. A great group to work with. As staff we marvel at the work completed and the dedication of our students. We throw many challenges at them and they all respond with vigour. Disappearing into the side of a mountain to look at rock formations was definitely one example.
A cold but exhilarating experience for all our students. A high level of skill achieved and a great resource to be able to use within our Unit 2 paper.
