If you are going to be studying at Suffolk One from this September you may be eligible for financial support from the 16-19 Hardship Fund. There are three elements to the Fund, offering support in different ways:
1.Bursary: Young people in care, care leavers, young people in receipt of income support and disabled young people in receipt of Employment Support Allowance and Disability Living Allowance will be eligible to receive a Bursary of £1,200 a year.
2.Learner Support Fund: All students not in receipt of a Bursary can apply to the Learner Support Fund. This will make Awards to those students or families on low incomes and can be used to pay for trips, buy resources needed for courses, as credit for college catering or other costs such as music lessons. All Awards will be of £300 (£100 per term).
3. Suffolk One Transport Support Fund. Applications are welcome from all students not in receipt of a Bursary, with priority given to supporting students who are on a low income or from low income families. Students may apply to this fund AS WELL as the Learner Support Fund. All Awards will be of £240 (£80 per term).
