On Friday 17th January students on the Level 3 BTEC Engineering course took a trip to the Viridor Materials Recycling Plant to see first-hand now engineering can be applied to recycling.
Students used the trip to gain inspiration for their current project in Stowmarket. The group are turning the alleyway between Barclays banks and the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts into a ‘green zone’ using only recycled materials.
Zak Hageman, an Engineering student said ‘It was very insightful; it taught the class a lot we didn’t know. The trip gave us a lot of inspiration and ideas we will incorporate in our designs’.
