On Wednesday 23rd March One celebrated Diversity Day. The atrium was full of stalls and activities at lunchtime including a Bollywood dance performance, the Relationship Game, LBGT Student Voice, Amnesty International with many more activities taking place in lessons.
Director of Curriculum Georgina Hill oversaw the event and said "At One we believe that we embrace diversity throughout the year in all that we do and pride ourselves on being fully inclusive, actively promoting and celebrating difference. However Diversity Day is a way for us to explicitly focus on the eight strands of Equality and Diversity: age, disability, gender reassignment, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy and motherhood, race, religion or belief and sex and sexual orientation, and provide lots of opportunities for staff and students to discuss, ask questions or simply enjoy the activities, speakers or presentations. We believe that Diversity Day reflects us as a centre and facilitates questions and thoughts, overall allowing us all to celebrate in that one thing we all share...our differences."
