On Monday 18th March students on the level two beauty therapy course put their skills to the test by taking part in a makeover competition; creating ‘Hollywood’ looks with external models.
Creations were inspired by Avatar, Alice in Wonderland, Black Swan, Moulin Rouge and Marilyn Monroe. The winner from last year’s event and former One student Esme Nicholls-Love was invited back to be one of the judges.
Bethany Goldsmith was crowned the winner for her creation of the snow queen from the film Narnia, her sister (Megan) was the model. She received a trophy and £100 worth of Dermalogica products for winning.
Bethany said, “I was nervous to begin with, but the nerves soon disappeared and I was thrilled with the overall look and outcome.”
Karla Crosby-Smith, teacher of Beauty Therapy said, “The talent and creativity demonstrated by all our beauty therapy students improves every year - and their mastery of artistic make-up, hair and costume design proved to be the best we have ever seen at One.
