One understands that your laptop or tablet can be a very important tool to facilitate your learning. Therefore we have made it easy for you to use your own laptop or tablet onsite providing a simple one time connection. Once connected you’ll be able to access Moodle, Office 365, the Library catalogue, our Remote Desktop solution and the Internet (as you’d expect we filter your Internet access such as blocking Facebook during lesson times). You can even print from your own device!
The first time you wish to connect your laptop or tablet to the BYOD network you’ll need to pop into the IT Service Desk so that your device can be authorised. Your laptop must be running Windows 7, 8 or 10 and have an up to date antivirus program installed and running. In order to make full use of Office 365 and other One resources you must be running the most recent version of Internet Explorer or Google Chrome.
If you have a MacBook you should be running OS X Yosemite (10.10) or Mavericks (10.9). Antivirus is recommended.
We can provide basic assistance with getting your device connected to our network but unfortunately can’t offer any other support for personal devices.
